Dragonglass, in legends, is said to be the result of a dragon scorching gemstones that happen to generate in Hell layers. Though no one has provided evidence of Hell dragons even existing, therefore this myth is unconfirmed. Dragons are known to exist here in the Azure Mines, so such a myth is still up to speculation.

Overview[]

Dragonglass is a fairly common ore found in the hell layer, from 2000 to 2400 meters. It is primarily used in base stations, as well as for crafting the Dragonglass Pickaxe and the Glass Candle. It takes a short amount of time to mine, and awards 10,000 XP upon being mined.

January Update[]

With the January Update, Dragonglass ore and its pickaxe changed. Before the update the ore was found between 2000m - 2400m and awarded 10,000 XP. The pickaxe was designed to mine Boomite and place it in your inventory. After the update it was found right below 1m and only awarded 100 XP making its value SIGNIFICANTLY lower, since it was used as an event ore for an event. The pickaxe mined Dragonstone, something that is needed to be mined for the Helen Quest, which was part of the event. The purpose of these changes was so that newer players could do the Helen Quest. The Helen Quest was later removed because of the event ending. The pickaxe can still mine Boomite. After this event, Dragonglass was found only in 2000+ depths, but still remained at 100 XP as Berezaa forgot to change it. After 2020's Halloween update, the XP was changed back to 10,000 from 100. The depth was also reverted back to 2000m - 2400m.

Trivia[]

  • Dragonglass is in fact a real thing; however, it is commonly called obsidian. It is formed when lava from a volcano is quickly cooled down, forming a mineraloid with a distinctive dark coloration. It's composed primarily of silicon oxide (SiO2), although it can contain traces of iron oxide (Fe3O4) and magnesium oxide (MgO), which give it colors ranging from green to red to black.
    • Despite this, the Dragonglass of Azure Mines and Miner's Haven has been confirmed by OutOfOrderFoxy to be its own separate thing from obsidian.
  • Originally, when Heisergroup submitted the ore, he gave the name Abyssium. However, the name was Changed to Dragonglass for unknown reasons. though likely to be a reference to Game of Thrones.
